The Organic art residency practices and promotes sustainability by launch art projects within the community to bring awareness about the environment, global warming and sustainable living.
The artist are immersing in the natural world and they seek to inspire creativity by connecting their practices to their organic roots. This particular residency program encourages the artists to return to those days when art was made with all-natural materials, such as charcoal and birch bark. Materials like organic pigments, leaves, branches, berries, stones etc will also contribute to experience a magical journey into nature developing the concepts of awareness and perception that are foundational to the creative process.
This residency at Art Aia is open to any artist who wants to discover the joy of creating with nature.
Art Aia is also an ecology center dedicated to connecting people with nature, art and community. The Sustainable Farm project is a workshop created to promote sustainable and organic farming methods such as sustainable farm planning, synergistic agriculture , beneficial use of water resources of a piece of land, vine & bambù growing , garden design and more.
Healing nature seeks to address the dis-ease caused by a disconnect between humans and nature. Because holism is supposedly all encompassing, it is important to explore the interconnectedness of humans with their amazing ecosystem and natural habitat. Ecotherapy usually involves sensory awareness practices that invite us to expand the mind-body-spirit connection. By inviting nature into the therapeutic alliance, we are holding the space for the person to connect with their natural environment and provide them with deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

Creating a multi-purpose cross-disciplinary art center via the reuse of existing abandoned buildings in a rural area.
The main goal of the project is to create a multi-purpose learning and performing center via the reuse of existing abandoned buildings and spaces inside the farm ( Art Aia -Creatives\in\Residence) and to assist visiting partners in the creation of a workshop\performance\exhibition within the space. The visiting partner is free to decide the topic and the techniques to be used. After a desk and field research on the abandoned structure, during a residency program, a workshop\performance\exhibition will be prepared by the visiting partner based on the result of the research. The purpose is to revitalize the anthropogenic element of the building/ space. Together with the creation of the workshop\performance\exhibition, there will be the preparation of the abandoned building/ Space during which the hosting partner involves volunteers/ local authorities/ sponsors, in order to prepare the structure for the event. The participants of the performance will be performers/artists/ workshop participants from 2 partners – the hosting one and the one that directs it. The visiting partner would also have to be willing to host our group and collaborate in the creation of a workshop\performance\exhibition in an abandoned structure, i.e. abandoned factories, hospitals, monasteries, churches, worthy buildings, quarries, farms etc.,of their city/ town in order to foster cultural exchange and to implement activities and their possible wishes and ideas for future plans in the specific abandoned building/ place.

The aim of the project is also to re-skill and up-skill learners in innovative, creative pedagogical techniques, the art of filming, the use of information and communication technology and organizational and promotional abilities.
Each hosting partner involves volunteers/ local authorities/ sponsors, in order to prepare the structure for the event, i.e. clean the place, remove any material that can cause harm, place seats for the audience, provide lights and sound system, promote the event etc.
The project will be issued with videos on the preparation, workshop, performance/ exhibition and of each partner and a short video of overall partners’ activities. There will be the creation of a Facebook Page and of a Website as posters and informative leaflets for each workshop & performance or exhibition. Articles/ advertisements in local and national newspapers, magazines and informational websites will disseminate the information and eventually there will be the issuing of a Guide on how to exploit abandoned buildings presenting case studies in form of an e-book.
